Christopher W.V. Schumacher, MD

Dr. Christopher Schumacher is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He joined Bone & Joint Care Center after serving as the Program Director of Sports Medicine and Division Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at a local hospital, bringing with him years of experience in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Schumacher focuses on treating sports-related injuries through surgical and non-surgical techniques, including minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures and joint preservation.

Dr. Schumacher completed his Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he also served as a clinical instructor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his residency and internship in orthopedic surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Throughout his career, Dr. Schumacher has served as a team physician for various athletic programs, including Conrad Weiser High School, Schuylkill Valley High School, Penn State University-Berks, Albright College, Alvernia University, and the Wake Forest University football, basketball, soccer, and baseball teams.

A member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Dr. Schumacher is passionate about helping athletes and active individuals recover from injuries and return to their peak performance levels. He is excited to be part of the Bone & Joint Care Center team and is committed to providing his patients with the highest quality of care.
